This handcrafted glass ring combines clear, high-quality borosilicate glass with an extra-large blue Gilson opal, deliberately placing the stone at the center. The opal measures approximately 4–5 mm and displays an intense play of colors in deep blue and aqua tones that constantly changes depending on the light.
Compared to my models with finer 2-mm opals, this ring makes a significantly bolder statement. The larger opal evokes the play of light on water – calm, deep, and vibrant all at once. The clear, spherical glass shape accentuates the stone's floating character and gives the ring a modern, timeless appeal.
Gilson opals are lab-grown opals specifically developed for use with glass. They exhibit the typical opal play-of-color in stable, durable quality and are ideal for handcrafted glass jewelry.
Handcrafted Unique Piece
Each ring is handcrafted in my studio in Greifenstein using the lampwork technique. Due to the manual manufacturing process, no two pieces are exactly alike – each item is a true one-of-a-kind.
